To New Mexico...and beyond!

This morning I was surprised and pleased to see a post on Slashdot about a $225 million project happening in the state of New Mexico driven by Virgin Galactic and it's entrepenuer founder Richard Branson. The project: to build the world's first spaceport that will leverage the SpaceShipOne vehicle (winner of the Ansari X Prize in 2004) for commercial flights as soon as late 2008 or early 2009.

*blink blink*

Will commercial spaceflight be a reality that soon!?!? I'd venture to say yes, if Richard Branson and Burt Rutan are behind it...
